FN 509 Tactical Semi-Automatic Pistol

The FN 509 Tactical Pistol is an enhanced version of the FN 509 series, which was originally developed as a submission pistol for the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun Trials. This pistol incorporates several design improvements from the FN 509.

One notable feature is the Low-Profile Optics Mounting System, protected by U.S Patent No. 10/352,654. This system allows the pistol to accommodate more than ten different miniature red dot (MRD) optics available on the market. These optics can be co-witnessed with the suppressor-height night sights, and the pistol remains adaptable to future optics releases without requiring direct milling of the slide.

Additionally, the pistol includes a slide cap that can be used when not using an optic. This cap has raised sight wings, which serve to protect the alignment of the iron sights if the pistol is dropped or jostled. The slide cap also features a textured ramp, allowing the slide to be racked against a belt loop, pant pocket, or boot.

The top end of the pistol features FN’s signature 4.5-inch cold hammer-forged stainless-steel barrel with a target crown. The barrel has ½” x 28 threads, which are compatible with the majority of 9mm suppressors available on the market. It also includes a thread cap with an integrated O-ring to prevent loosening during use.

To maximize ammunition capacity without sacrificing carry convenience, the pistol comes with 24-round magazines that are almost the same length as the slide.
